Recently, the promotion and implementation conference for two mandatory national standards, Safety Requirements for Photovoltaic Modules and Marking and Labeling Requirements for Photovoltaic Modules, was held at the Xizang Mansion in Beijing. Organized by the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Solar Photovoltaic Energy Systems (SAC/TC90), this conference marks a significant signal that China's photovoltaic industry has officially entered the era of mandatory standards. Tongwei Co., Ltd. was invited to attend, where it joined industry experts and peers in the industrial chain to focus on the implementation of the standards and contribute to the high-quality development of the industry.
The two mandatory national standards were proposed and placed under the administration of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, drafted by the China Electronics Standardization Institute in collaboration with relevant entities, and will be officially implemented on June 1, 2027. At the conference, experts from the standard compilation team systematically interpreted the development background, core technical clauses, and key points for compliant implementation of the two national standards, gave special lectures on core contents such as the module safety performance system and nameplate marking specifications, and provided answers and guidance for common problems in enterprise-level implementation, clarifying the implementation path for the entire industry to smoothly transition to the mandatory standard system.

Conference Scene
"National standards are not the ceiling, but the starting line." As the implementation timeline for the mandatory photovoltaic national standards is officially set, the entire industry is gradually launching compliance preparation work. Tongwei has already delivered a result that exceeds expectations: instead of passively meeting the minimum requirements of the standards to achieve basic compliance, Tongwei proactively sets higher goals and raises its own standards, taking the lead in the industry's compliance process with robust product strength.
Recently, Tongwei TNC modules passed the full-dimensional evaluation by the China Photovoltaic Testing Center (CPVT), and successively obtained two national-level authoritative certifications: the "Mandatory National Standard Compliance Verification Test Certificate" and the "Photovoltaic Module System Fire Safety Performance Verification Test Certificate", reaching the country's highest standards in terms of module safety and long-term reliability.

Tongwei TNC Modules Obtained Two National-level Authoritative Certifications from CPVT
Safety is the non-negotiable bottom line of the photovoltaic industry
Safety Requirements for Photovoltaic Modules constructs a safety management and control system covering the entire product lifecycle from four dimensions: electrical safety, fire safety, mechanical safety, and hazardous substance restriction. For Tongwei, safety has never been a passing score for inspection, but a rigid principle that leaves no room for compromise. The two newly obtained certifications complement each other: the "Photovoltaic Module System Fire Safety Performance Verification Test Certificate" recognizes the flame retardancy and flame suppression capability of TNC modules, while the "Mandatory National Standard Compliance Verification Test Certificate" comprehensively covers the four core safety indicators of electrical safety, fire safety, mechanical safety, and hazardous substance restriction. Together, they form a dual authoritative guarantee for the safety performance of TNC modules.
Dual authoritative verification builds a solid barrier for fire safety
In terms of reliable fire performance, TNC modules have successively passed dual verifications from two authoritative institutions, namely the China Photovoltaic Testing Center (CPVT) and the Canadian Standards Association (CSA Group). The fire protection capability of the modules meets two strict standard systems at home and abroad, with particularly outstanding performance in restraining flame spread. It can effectively delay the spread of fire, win precious emergency response time for power stations, and build a solid safety defense line with globally recognized fire protection strength. It is particularly worth mentioning that the newly released Tongwei TNC 3.0 modules, in actual outdoor power station operation, have a hot spot temperature of only about 50°C under small-area shading (0.5 cells), and a hot spot temperature of only over 40°C under large-area shading (more than 1 cell), showing ultra-low hot spot temperature performance and excellent hot spot resistance.

Having undergone strict experimental tests, they fear no extreme working conditions
Taking static load as an example, Safety Requirements for Photovoltaic Modules stipulates that the front design load of photovoltaic modules shall not be less than 2400Pa. However, the maximum static test load of TNC modules can reach 6000Pa, which is equivalent to the continuous pressure of snow about 4 meters thick. Moreover, Tongwei adopts a more stringent internal limit quality test, increasing the test intensity by another 10% to 6600Pa, designing sufficient product reliability redundancy for customers to cope with extreme weather in real application scenarios, and acting as the "ballast stone" for the stable operation of modules outdoors for 30 years.
Take Heilongjiang Province as an example, its historical maximum snow depth is only 1.2 meters, which is far below the pressure-bearing limit of TNC modules. This means that with the "advanced configuration" of mechanical strength, TNC modules provide all-round safety support for power stations from theory to practice, and from standard requirements to extreme conditions, ensuring that under extreme weather, the modules will not deform, the cells will not suffer hidden cracks, and they can still generate electricity stably through wind and snow, protecting the safety of customers' assets.
From fire protection capability to mechanical pressure-bearing indicators, the achievement of each indicator is not for the purpose of "passing the test", but to cope with various extreme tests that may occur in the real world.
Authenticity is a solemn promise that enterprises deliver to customers
Marking and Labeling Requirements for Photovoltaic Modules targets industry pain points such as inflated power ratings and chaotic parameters, requiring strict control over the deviation between the nameplate value and the measured value, with full traceability of data. Tongwei's response goes further than the standards: through strict internal quality control processes, it carries out systematic, scientific, and rigorous management of the module reference plates — the calibration benchmarks for TNC module power ratings. Through effective traceability, industry benchmarking, regular calibration, and third-party monitoring, Tongwei ensures that every parameter of TNC modules can withstand re-inspection.
In the era of extensive expansion, price was the passport for market competition; in the era of value competition, safety and authenticity are the moats for enterprises to achieve steady and long-term development. Tongwei always measures itself with strict standards, drawing a watershed at the critical node of the industry's mandatory standard implementation: compliance is only the starting point, and transcendence is the norm. Protecting the stable operation of every power station with safety, and eliminating every doubt about parameters with authenticity, this is Tongwei's in-depth understanding of customer value, and also its firm commitment to promoting the photovoltaic industry towards high-quality development.
