1. Focusing on Industry Development, Tongwei Provides an In-Depth Analysis of Photovoltaic Technology Evolution

The summit focused on North American and global photovoltaic manufacturing capacity, the evolution of technology pathways, and collaborative development across the global supply chain. In his speech titled “PV Technology Evolution – Tongwei’s Perspective,” Dr. Xing Guoqiang reviewed the decades-long development of the global photovoltaic industry. According to the ITRPV photovoltaic learning curve, from 2006 to 2025, every doubling of cumulative global installed capacity was accompanied by a 40.8% decline in unit costs. Data from authoritative research institutions and publicly available market information show that photovoltaic module prices fell from approximately USD 1.20/Wp in 2011 to approximately USD 0.09/Wp in 2026.

Over the past two decades, photovoltaic technology has undergone rapid and continuous evolution, progressing from aluminum back-surface field (Al-BSF) technology to the P-type era dominated by PERC, and then to the N-type era featuring the rapid development of TOPCon, HJT, and BC technologies. Technological innovation and declining manufacturing costs have driven continued growth in global photovoltaic installations, contributing to the significant development of the industry. Since its commercialization in 2021, N-type TOPCon has rapidly expanded its market share, reaching 84% in 2025, and is expected to remain mainstream over the next five years.

2. Addressing Industry Challenges with Leading TNC, THC, and TBC Technology Pathways

As a leader in TOPCon technology, Tongwei has adopted a self-developed tubular PECVD technology pathway. Related achievements have been selected twice for the cover of *Progress in Photovoltaics*. PECVD technology accounts for approximately 57% of the TOPCon market and has received widespread recognition from the global photovoltaic academic and industrial communities.

Tongwei’s TNC cell and module products deliver industry-leading performance. Its three generations of products—TNC 1.0, featuring high cost-effectiveness; TNC 2.0, offering stable and high efficiency; and TNC 3.0, representing flagship innovation—cover a power range from 465 W to 770 W, comprehensively meeting the needs of utility-scale power plants, commercial and industrial applications, and residential scenarios.

Tongwei began investing in HJT technology R&D in 2018 and has continued to tackle core technologies, achieving key breakthroughs. In June 2026, Tongwei’s THC module achieved a power output of 802.43 W and a conversion efficiency of 25.83%, setting a new HJT module power record for the 12th time and reaching another industry milestone.

In terms of advanced technology development, Tongwei has established a multi-pronged technology portfolio and continued to build technological capabilities for future applications. Its xBC technology covers the range from p-TBC to n-HTBC, with R&D achievements ranking among the industry's leading levels. In 2025, Tongwei completed the industry’s first 5 MW perovskite tandem pilot line, continuing to explore future technologies and building a multi-dimensional technological innovation advantage.
