Currently, the photovoltaic (PV) industry is transitioning from "scale expansion" to an "efficiency revolution." Perovskite and tandem solar cells, as core directions for next-generation high-efficiency PV technology, have attracted significant attention from both within and beyond the industry. To promote the deep integration of "industry-academia-research-application-capital" in the perovskite industry and accelerate technology commercialization, the 2026 9th China International Photovoltaic and Energy Storage Industry Conference will be grandly held in Chengdu, China from November 17–20. The inaugural China International Association for the Promotion of Science and Technology (CIAPST) Perovskite Industry Exhibition (hereinafter referred to as the "Perovskite Industry Expo"), co-organized by the Conference Organizing Committee and the CIAPST Perovskite Industry Branch, will simultaneously make its grand debut. During the same period, the 3rd Perovskite and Tandem Solar Cell (Southwest China) Industrialization Forum will also be held, gathering industry forces to jointly build a new development ecosystem for the perovskite industry.
As a next-generation disruptive PV technology, perovskite photovoltaics, with its significant advantages of high efficiency, low cost, low preparation energy consumption, and flexible fabrication capabilities, has become a core direction for the global PV industry's iterative upgrading and green energy transition, with enormous commercialization potential. Its laboratory power conversion efficiency has already achieved major breakthroughs, and tandem cell technology has further pushed the upper limit of PV efficiency, making it a key track for replacing traditional crystalline silicon PV and driving cost reduction and efficiency improvement across the industry.
Currently, the large-scale deployment of perovskite technology still faces multiple bottlenecks. Technical challenges such as insufficient long-term material stability, weak outdoor environmental adaptability, and poor film uniformity in large-area preparation have not yet been fully overcome. Meanwhile, issues including low mass-production yield, lack of industry standards, and insufficient supply chain synergy are seriously constraining the transition from laboratory achievements to large-scale industrial applications.

The industry urgently needs an authoritative platform to bring together industry-academia-research-application forces to resolve technical bottlenecks and break through industrial barriers. Against this backdrop, the convening of this Perovskite and Tandem Solar Cell (Southwest China) Industrialization Forum is of great necessity and industry value. The forum will focus on technological breakthroughs, mass-production implementation, and supply chain synergy, consolidating industry consensus and sharing cutting-edge achievements, injecting core momentum into the large-scale, high-quality development of the perovskite industry.
From government policy support and application scenario expansion to research environment optimization, the Sichuan region provides strong support for the long-term development of the perovskite industry. Based in Southwest China and radiating nationwide, the Perovskite and Tandem Solar Cell (Southwest China) Industrialization Forum will establish a perovskite industry development platform for the coordinated advancement of industry, academia, research, application, and capital. It will assemble leading enterprises across the entire perovskite supply chain and university research teams to conduct in-depth discussions on industry hotspots and pain points. Core topics include the development pathway planning for the perovskite industry during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, efficiency improvement and stability optimization of tandem cells, yield upgrading and cost control for GW-level production lines, and multi-scenario applications such as BIPV, space photovoltaics, and distributed PV. The forum will share the latest technological achievements and industrialization experiences, helping the industry break through technical barriers, address industrial shortcomings, standardize the industry ecosystem, and accelerate the commercialization process.

The concurrently held Perovskite Industry Expo is the first dedicated perovskite exhibition in China, positioned around three core labels: "Technology Verification + Scenario Matchmaking + Capital Linking." During the PV and Energy Storage Conference exhibition period, a perovskite-themed pavilion will be curated, showcasing four featured zones: core technologies, devices & applications, demonstration projects & scenario displays, and industry-academia-research & services. Within the themed pavilion, on-site perovskite seminars, new product launches, and major project launch ceremonies will be held. In collaboration with the 22nd CSPV Conference hosted by the Shanghai Solar Energy Society, a dedicated CIAPST Perovskite Industry-Academia-Research Forum session will be established, interacting and exchanging with the perovskite-themed pavilion to advance the commercialization of cutting-edge perovskite technologies, application technologies, and industrialization.
