Keynote Speeches
Pooling Global Wisdom to Discuss High-Quality Development Pathways
Jerry Stokes, Senior Advisor to the Global Solar Council, delivered a keynote speech titled "European and Global Markets: New Opportunities and Emerging Trends." He stated that solar energy is no longer just a "clean energy solution" but a key force driving substantial growth in the global economy. By 2035, solar power is expected to become the world's largest source of electricity. As the global manufacturing system continues to improve and the levelized cost of electricity (LCOE) continues to decline, more countries are incorporating photovoltaics into their energy security strategies, and the market is shifting from being "policy-driven" to "value-driven."

Yuan Zhichao, Assistant Manager of the Module Marketing Technical Support Division in the PV Business Department of Tongwei Co., Ltd., systematically elaborated on the systemic cost advantages of Tongwei's G12-size TNC 2.0 & 3.0 products in conventional scenarios worldwide. He also presented Tongwei's solution for scenarios that might adopt a four-string module system design on a single tracker. This solution breaks away from the conventional mindset of maximizing the total power per string, innovatively proposing that system design should consider the global optimum. By reducing the number of modules per string, the total number of modules and the total power per tracker are increased, achieving higher system cost savings on trackers and effectively reducing the initial investment cost and the lifecycle LCOE for power plant owners.
According to statistics, global tracker shipments reached 110 GW in 2024. If Tongwei's G12-Tracker solution were adopted, it is estimated that it could save global plant owners approximately RMB 4.4 billion annually in power plant investment costs.
