Recently, S&P Global Commodity Insights officially released its inaugural Tier 1 Cleantech Companies 2025 list. Tongwei, with its comprehensive strength, has become one of the first companies in the industry to be included in the "S&P Global 2025 Tier 1 PV Module Suppliers".
Spanning the major sectors of PV modules, inverters, energy storage, and wind turbines, this list is not a simple ranking but rather a "quality enterprise roster" based on authentic data and long-term performance. S&P Global evaluates companies across six key dimensions, including market influence and shipment volume, annual market share, corporate scale, global production capacity layout, key financial indicators, and corporate sustainability performance. To qualify as Tier 1, a company must exceed thresholds in at least four dimensions.
Notably, sustainability has been included as a mandatory criterion for the first time, placing environmental protection and a sense of responsibility on par with market performance. Additionally, the list adopts an annual evaluation mechanism, minimizing the impact of short-term fluctuations to better reflect companies' sustained performance and stability throughout the year. Thus, it serves not just as a list, but as a benchmark indicating which enterprises are steadily advancing in the energy transition.
On the product front, Tongwei's newly launched TNC 2.0 module integrates four proprietary core technologies: 908 (0BB) technology, TPE technology, Poly Tech, and stencil printing. These innovations effectively reduce shading area and hidden crack risks, increase bifaciality to 85%, and boost module power by 25W overall. The TNC-G12 module, with standard dimensions of 2384*1303mm, achieves a power output of up to 778.5W—approximately 60W higher than mainstream counterparts—and breaks the TOPCon module record with a conversion efficiency of 25.06%.
In market expansion, Tongwei continues to lead in domestic distributed PV shipments while steadily advancing centralized PV projects. It has successively won large-scale procurement bids from major players like Datang Power, China Three Gorges Corporation, CNNC, Guohua Electric Power, and PetroChina, and deepened collaborations with key clients in innovative demonstration projects such as "integrated wind-solar-hydro-storage systems" and "source-grid-load-storage coordination." Overseas business also performed well, with dominant positions in markets like Poland, Romania, and Hungary. The company has successfully delivered the EEC 148MW traceability project order and its first TNC 2.0 G12R 66 double-glass module order, achieving new market breakthroughs.
In sustainability, Tongwei has also been internationally recognized. At BSI's 8th Intelligence Summit—hosted by the authoritative international standards body (BSI) and marking the 30th anniversary of BSI's presence in China—Tongwei was honored with the "Sustainable Performance Award" and the "Standards Pioneer Award," highlighting its achievements in green operations and compliance management.
This inclusion in S&P Global's Tier 1 list is a high recognition of Tongwei's comprehensive strength and global operation level, and it also highlights the leading role of the company in promoting energy structure transformation and low-carbon development.
