On July 4, the 2025 PVTD Perovskite/Crystalline Silicon Tandem and Photovoltaic Forward-looking Technology Forum, hosted by Moore PV, was held in Beijing. The forum focused on topics such as cost reduction paths for XBC/HJT technology and breakthroughs in perovskite tandem mass production, aiming to promote the transition of tandem technology from the laboratory to large-scale application. Dr. Zhang Yifeng, Chief Engineer of TW Solar's PV Technology Center, was invited to attend and deliver a keynote speech.

In his speech, themed "Tongwei's Progress Report on the Mass Production of Perovskite-Silicon Tandem Cells and Modules", Dr. Zhang introduced the technical background and industrialization progress of perovskite/silicon tandem cells, Tongwei's R&D progress in perovskite/silicon tandem technology, and future prospects for tandem cell technology.

Dr. Zhang introduced Tongwei's latest breakthroughs in the field of perovskite/silicon tandem cells to the attendees, stating that Tongwei innovatively adopted a technical solution compatible with existing heterojunction production lines. Through process optimization, formula design, and improvements in passivation technology, they overcame the technical challenges of commercialized perovskite conformal film formation. The latest data shows that Tongwei's small-area tandem cell efficiency has reached 34.37%, and the efficiency of 210 half-cell full-size cells has exceeded 27.46%, with the full-process development of tandem modules completed.

As an important component of the next-generation photovoltaic technology, perovskite/silicon tandem cells are crucial. The development of Tongwei's perovskite/silicon tandem cells will closely follow the cost reduction and efficiency improvement technology roadmap of silicon bottom cells, combining Tongwei's unique 210 half-cell platform, wafer thinning, silver-free metallization, and 908 technology to continuously promote the mass production and conversion of perovskite/silicon tandem cells.
