Tongwei Was Invited to Attend the Prestigious Industry Forum Silicon PV & nPV Workshop
2025-04-18

From April 8 to 11, the 15th International Conference on Silicon Photovoltaics, SiliconPV Conference 2025, was held at the University of Oxford, UK, hosted by the university’s Department of Materials. Alongside the conference, the nPV Workshop focusing on N-type technology took place. As one of the most influential academic forums in the global PV field, the conference brought together experts, scholars, and technology leaders from the world's top research institutes, renowned universities, and leading companies in the industry. Meng Xiajie, Director of the Cell Development Department at Tongwei Co., Ltd.'s PV Technology Center, was invited to deliver a keynote speech at the event.

Meng highlighted that PolyTech can effectively mitigate parasitic absorption in solar cell process optimization. Additionally, the SiOx layer deposited via PECVD serves as an etching barrier for alkaline polishing and the Rear Buried Selective Texture (RBST) process, which not only enhances the color uniformity of the cell’s rear side but also increases the cell’s bifaciality to 95%, with module bifaciality reaching up to 90%. Furthermore, the optimized high-bifaciality TOPCon modules demonstrate a 0.67% increase in energy yield per watt compared to standard TOPCon modules, further enhancing the application value of TOPCon products for customers.

Tongwei has made deep inroads in TOPCon R&D, continuously advancing technological innovation in TOPCon cells and modules while achieving multiple breakthroughs. The company pioneered and led the adoption of PECVD technology, achieving groundbreaking progress in TOPCon cell manufacturing. Currently, Tongwei's PECVD solution holds a 56% market share in the industry's 852GW solar cell production capacity (source: InfoLink Consulting). On March 20, 2025, the front side power of Tongwei TNC module G12-66 reached 778.5 watts, and the conversion efficiency reached 25.06%; the front side power of Tongwei TNC module G12R-66 reached 682.8 watts, and the conversion efficiency reached 25.28% (TÜV-certified), which broke records for both power and efficiency in two mainstream TOPCon module formats.

Backed by its Global Innovation R&D Center, Tongwei has established a comprehensive R&D matrix covering all mainstream and cutting-edge solar cell and module technologies. As it advances toward carbon neutrality, Tongwei remains committed to innovation-driven technological development, continuously driving the evolution of the PV industry and contributing to the green transformation of the global energy system.
