Fourth Collaboration! Tongwei and Hexing Electrical Signed 550MW PV Module Supply Agreement

Recently, during the Solar & Storage Live Africa, an exhibition in South Africa, Tongwei and Hangzhou Hexing Electrical Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Hexing Electrical") signed a 550MW PV module supply agreement, which will further deepen the strategic cooperation between the two parties in the South African market.


Zhang Zhiyi, Sales Director of Hexing Electrical Southeast Africa, and Gao Jiangjiang, Head of Module Marketing in Southern Africa at the PV Business Department of Tongwei Co., Ltd., attended the signing ceremony. Wang Jianguo, Manager of Hexing's Livoltek in South Africa, and Song Gaoyan, Senior Sales Manager of Module Marketing in Southern Africa at the PV Business Department of Tongwei Co., Ltd., signed the agreement on behalf of both parties. This collaboration marks the fourth partnership between Tongwei and Hexing Electrical in the South African market, fully demonstrating the high level of mutual trust and long-term win-win cooperation between the two parties in promoting the development of clean energy in Africa.

Since the beginning of strategic cooperation in 2022, Tongwei and Hexing Electrical have continuously cultivated the South African PV market, writing a new chapter in China-Africa new energy cooperation. At the end of 2022, during the 30th-anniversary celebration of Hexing Electrical, the two parties signed the first strategic cooperation agreement in the South African market, officially opening the prelude to cooperation. During the 2023 SNEC exhibition, the signing of a 500MW framework agreement elevated the scale of cooperation to a new level. In 2024, the implementation of a 150MW procurement agreement once again demonstrated the determination of both parties to promote energy transition in South Africa. The achievement of this 550MW cooperation agreement not only realizes the growth of the cooperation scale between the two parties but will also strongly promote the development of the renewable energy industry in South Africa and the entire Southern African region.

On March 20, the front power of Tongwei TNC-G12R module reached 682.8 watts and the conversion efficiency reached 25.28% under the standard size of 2382 * 1134 mm after TÜV test by international authoritative certification organization; Under the standard size of 2384 * 1303mm, the power of Tongwei TNC-G12 module reaches 778.5W, and the conversion efficiency reaches 25.06%, which is about 60W higher than the mainstream power of the same model in mass production in the current market, refreshing the efficiency and power record of TOPCon module of two mainstream models again.

Moreover, Tongwei leverages the advantages of TOPCon technology through its TNC2.0 technology, which encompasses four key advancements. In terms of technological research and development, Tongwei's TOPCon bifacial modules have achieved a breakthrough with a bifaciality rate of 88%+, which has been certified by a third party. By utilizing 908 technology (Tongwei's self-developed 0BB technology), screen printing, EPT edge passivation technology, Poly Tech, and other advanced technologies, it has achieved a comprehensive enhancement of both bifaciality and efficiency, resulting in significant power generation gains. This technological evolution injects further vitality into South Africa's energy accessibility and green development initiatives.
