On November 29, Dr. Zhu Zihan, Head of Sustainable Development at Tongwei Co., Ltd., was invited to present Tongwei's "Integration of Fishery and PV" case at the United Nations Headquarters in Beijing. He attended the Release Conference of 20 Cases Examples of Private Sector's Sustainable Development in China for 20 Years and the First Global Roadshow of UN Global Compact for Private Sector's Sustainable Development in China, sharing Tongwei's exemplary sustainability practices with the world.

2024 marks the 20th anniversary of the UN Global Compact's introduction of the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles and framework. On this occasion, the UN Global Compact initiated a call for solicitation of sustainable development cases from private sector in China, selecting exemplary practices to compile and publicly release the "20 Cases Examples of Private Sector's Sustainable Development in China for 20 Years” Report.

Tongwei's "Integration of Fishery and PV" Case Report

The "Integration of Fishery and PV" case selected in the Report is a groundbreaking industry integration model pioneered by Tongwei, aligned with China's national green development strategy. It is the world’s first of its kind. This model integrates PV power generation with modern aquaculture, realizing sustainable development by allowing "power generation above and fish farming below." This model not only maintains local ecological balance and generates clean energy, but also fosters the growth of tertiary industries such as tourism, entertainment, and technology education. It greatly improves land resource utilization efficiency and drives the transformation and growth of the rural economy. As of now, Tongwei has developed and constructed 55 PV power stations with a focus on "Integration of Fishery and PV" in more than 20 provinces (municipalities) including Jiangsu, Shandong, and Anhui, with an accumulated installed and grid-connected capacity exceeding 4.47GW.
