During the conference, Meng Chuncai delivered a keynote speech titled Progress and Prospect of Large-Scale Manufacturing of Perovskite-Silicon Tandem Cells. He stated that perovskite-silicon tandem cells represent a critical technical direction to break the efficiency limit of monocrystalline silicon cells. At present, based on the "vapor deposition-solution two-step method" technical route that is compatible with existing HJT production lines, Tongwei has successfully solved key technical challenges including full-area film formation, nucleation and crystallization regulation of perovskite on textured silicon surfaces, forming a mass-producible process system with independent intellectual property rights.

Tongwei completed the full-line commissioning of its 5MW fully automatic pilot line in September 2025, which serves as a verification platform for large-area perovskite film formation processes and mass production equipment. As of August 2026, the conversion efficiency of Tongwei's commercial-size 210×105cm² full-area perovskite-HJT tandem cell has exceeded 32.68%, the power of the 210-66 format module reaches 776W, and the monthly average efficiency of the pilot line stably exceeds 28%, fully demonstrating the feasibility and advancement of the two-step mass production route.

In terms of module reliability, Tongwei has carried out systematic research targeting key influencing factors such as ultraviolet radiation, high temperature, high humidity and mechanical stress. It has developed a dual UV protection scheme combining a light conversion functional layer and a blocking functional layer, as well as low-stress encapsulation materials and ultra-low-temperature interconnection technology, laying a solid foundation for perovskite tandem modules to move from the laboratory to power station applications.

In the future, Tongwei will continue to promote the integrated R&D of perovskite-silicon tandem cells, focus on overcoming reliability bottlenecks, combine low-silver and silver-free metallization technologies, accelerate the development of multi-scenario application products, and complete the full technical system for tandem power generation. The company strives to realize the mass production transformation of perovskite-silicon tandem products at an early date, helping China's photovoltaic industry continue to lead the global energy transformation.
