Recently, TW Solar (Hefei) Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Tongwei Co., Ltd., scored 78 points in the EcoVadis 2024 Rating for sustainability certification. With this outstanding certification result, its corporate social responsibility medal has been elevated from last year's silver level to gold, ranking in the top 3% among over 130,000 companies from various sectors worldwide. In the global PV sector, Tongwei is the only company to receive the EcoVadis Gold Medal for corporate social responsibility, positioning itself at the forefront of the industry globally.

EcoVadis is a globally recognized standard for assessing corporate sustainability performance, with its evaluation methodology based on multiple international sustainability standards, including the ISO 26000 Guidance on Social Responsibility, the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) guidelines, International Labour Organization's conventions, and the principles of the UN Global Compact, covering over 220 sectors and more than 180 countries. The evaluation criteria mainly cover four themes: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement, aimed at assessing the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance of corporations on a global scale. Currently, over 600 large multinational companies' procurement teams utilize EcoVadis rating results as a basis for their daily purchasing decisions.

EcoVadis is a platform that assists companies in evaluating the environmental and social responsibility performance of their suppliers. By assessing suppliers' corporate social responsibility (CSR), the platform provides guidance for improvement, helping businesses enhance their operational standards and enabling suppliers to compete internationally and collaborate with top multinational enterprises. The goal is to take advantage of the global supply chain's influence to improve the company's environmental and social practices. It conducts a comprehensive evaluation, considering all organizational governance projects except quality in corporate operations, through online submissions based on the company's size and sector affiliation.

The EcoVadis assessment program encompasses 21 standards across four major themes: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement (with a total of 360 assessment questions), aiming to gain a clear insight into the implementation performance of corporate social responsibility.

Compared to the regulations of 2023, the qualification ranking and score standards for medal registration in 2024 have been elevated. The scoring standards effective from January 1, 2024, are as follows:

■ Platinum: Top 1% (total score between 80 and 100)

■ Gold: Top 5% (total score between 72 and 79)

■ Silver: Top 15% (total score between 64 and 71)

■ Bronze: Top 50% (total score between 56 and 63)

*No medals will be awarded if the total score is below 56, or if any of the themes—Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, or Sustainable Procurement—receives a score below 30.
