PV InfoLink Released 2024 Annual Solar Cell Shipment Rankings: Tongwei Retains Global Leadership

On February 17, PV InfoLink announced its 2024 annual solar cell shipment rankings, marking Tongwei's eighth consecutive year as the world's largest solar cell supplier.


According to PV InfoLink's research, Tongwei Co., Ltd. maintained its dominant position atop the top-five rankings. Despite ongoing expansion in its module business, the company achieved counter-cyclical growth in the second half of 2024 through robust domestic and international distribution channels. Although experiencing temporary ranking fluctuations in the first half, Tongwei ultimately solidified its annual leadership position, demonstrating unwavering market dominance.

The five ranked enterprises collectively shipped 162.8 GW of solar cells in 2024. Notably, TOPCon cell shipments surged ahead with 109.3 GW (67% of total shipments), rapidly overtaking PERC cell which recorded 53.5 GW shipments.


In the mid-end of the new energy industry chain, Tongwei has deeply engaged in the R&D, manufacturing, and promotion of core products in solar power generation. Through its Global Innovation R&D Center, the company has established a comprehensive R&D framework encompassing mainstream technologies including TOPCon, heterojunction (HJT), back-contact (BC), and perovskite/crystalline silicon tandem cells and modules.
