2025-02-17

On February 12, the Science & Technology Department of Sichuan Province issued an official Letter of Approval for the Establishment of Sichuan Provincial Ceramic Matrix Composite Materials and Crystalline Silicon PV Technology Innovation Centers. Led by TW Solar (Chengdu) Co., Ltd., and after undergoing rigorous procedures including application submission, construction plan evaluation, expert review meetings, on-site inspections, and final approval by the Science & Technology Department of Sichuan Province, the Sichuan Provincial Crystalline Silicon PV Technology Innovation Center has successfully received approval, making it one of the first ten provincial-level technology innovation centers planned by the Science & Technology Department of Sichuan Province.

Sichuan Provincial Technology Innovation Centers represent a key initiative by the Sichuan Provincial People's Government to implement President Xi Jinping’s directives during his inspection of Sichuan and the decisions of the sessions of the 12th CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee, aiming to deepen the integration of scientific innovation and industrial advancement. Aligned with national and provincial strategic priorities, they focus on six pillar industries—including electronics, equipment manufacturing—and emerging sectors like biomanufacturing and quantum technology. The goal is to establish a technology innovation network that meets the significant demands of industrial innovation, possesses both domestic and international influence and competitiveness, and develops a series of original and disruptive innovative outcomes. It will tackle cutting-edge and critical common technologies for industrial transformation, nurture industry-leading enterprises with significant domestic and international impact, and foster the growth of technology-driven SMEs. By 2027, Sichuan plans to establish approximately 20 provincial-level technology innovation centers in alignment with industrial development needs to drive industrial cultivation, cultivate new quality productive forces, and enhance regional industrial collaborative innovation.
