From November 17 to 20, during the 2026 9th China International Photovoltaic and Energy Storage Industry Conference, the Space Computing Power NQI Alliance will jointly host the Space Computing Power Parallel Session with the conference organizing committee to jointly explore new paths and new opportunities for the development of space computing power.
At the scene of the Space Computing Power Parallel Session of the 2026 9th China International Photovoltaic and Energy Storage Industry Conference, the launching ceremony of the Space Computing Power NQI Alliance will be grandly held. With the China Electronics Standardization Institute and the National Institute of Metrology, China as the guiding units, core alliance members including CQI Chengdu Inspection Company / National Photovoltaic Quality Inspection Center, Sichuan Aerospace, National Supercomputing Center in Chengdu, Three Gorges Sichuan, Tongwei Co., Ltd., JinkoSolar, JA Solar, Trina Solar, Silicon Valley Accelerator, Ziwei Technology, Suzhou Houyao, Beijing Delalec will gather together. During the same period of the conference, the signing ceremonies of "Space Photovoltaic Empirical Base" and "Space Computing Power Joint Empirical Base" will also be held, and the in-orbit platform white paper and space photovoltaic standards will be released on site, driving industrial upgrading through technological innovation and jointly drawing the grand blueprint of the space photovoltaic industry.

In June this year, the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration issued the "15th Five-Year Plan for the Construction of a New Energy System", which for the first time included "space power station" in the national-level cutting-edge energy technology direction. The "15th Five-Year Plan for Renewable Energy Development" clearly proposes to accelerate the research on the preparation and industrial production technology of high-efficiency photovoltaic cells such as perovskite tandem cells, study solar power generation technologies for space, and promote the verification of key technologies. The two plans echo each other, forming policy support from top-level strategy to technical route, marking that space photovoltaic has been officially incorporated into China's national energy development system.

At present, space photovoltaic technology has long faced the problem that high performance, low cost and light weight cannot be achieved in a coordinated manner. This bottleneck not only restricts the energy supply capacity of a single satellite, but also becomes a key obstacle hindering the large-scale networking of commercial aerospace, the construction of space supercomputing centers and the implementation of large-scale space solar power stations. Facing the current development needs of computing power and the future construction goals of space power stations, the core way out is to break the limitations of traditional photovoltaic technology and create a new space energy system adapted to the extreme space environment.
Computing power expansion, energy goes first. With the acceleration of low-orbit satellite networking and the rapid development of on-board artificial intelligence, the power density of traditional space photovoltaics is relatively low, which is difficult to meet the strict requirements of high computing power payloads for light weight and high specific power. It is urgent to tackle the new generation of flexible and efficient photovoltaic technology to improve the comprehensive payload efficiency. In accordance with the relevant planning and deployment of the "15th Five-Year Plan", large-scale orbital power stations are a key part of China's new energy system, which puts forward new tests for the full-life-cycle reliability of space energy equipment. Deploying long-term and low-cost technologies and building an integrated space-ground energy network are important strategic measures to seize the commanding heights of future energy development.

Since its establishment, the Space Computing Power NQI Alliance has always focused on integrating resources of metrology, testing and cutting-edge photovoltaic technologies, linked scientific research institutes, leading enterprises in the industrial chain, testing and certification institutions, successfully overcome and mastered the world's leading cell technology, achieved a leap-forward improvement in photoelectric conversion efficiency, solved the core contradiction between efficiency improvement and high manufacturing cost in the traditional aerospace photovoltaic field, and paved the way for commercial applications. At the same time, the Space Computing Power NQI Alliance will rely on the "space computing power pilot platform + new photovoltaic in-orbit test system", the two platforms will work together to build an integrated space-ground space test and verification system.
As one of the world's top three international events in the photovoltaic and energy storage industry, during the 2026 9th China International Photovoltaic and Energy Storage Industry Conference, the Space Computing Power Parallel Session will build an in-depth dialogue platform for industry, university, research and application, focusing on technological breakthroughs, co-construction of standards, project docking and industrial collaboration, so as to promote the mutual empowerment of space photovoltaics and space computing power.
