From TNC 1.0 to TNC 3.0, Tongwei's cell conversion efficiency has continuously improved, and cell-side manufacturing technologies have continuously broken through in the directions of loss control, efficiency improvement, and manufacturing consistency, further supporting power release at the module level.

"TPE 2.0 edge passivation technology focuses on the edge damage issue after cell cutting. Compared with TPE 1.0, TPE 2.0 further reduces warpage, delivering better cell appearance; meanwhile, it reduces cutting-surface recombination loss through high-efficiency passivation, minimizing capability loss when high-efficiency cells enter the module application stage," said Qi Gang, Deputy Director of the Platform Process Integration Department at Tongwei Solar Co., Ltd. This technology can support a 5W+ power increase for same-format modules and significantly reduce UVID degradation, allowing high-efficiency capability to be more fully released at the module level.

Poly Tech 2.0 patterning technology improves grid line processing precision through polysilicon patterning upgrades, reducing optical parasitic absorption and processing damage. Compared with Poly Tech 1.0, Poly Tech 2.0 delivers cell conversion efficiency improvement and supports a 3W+ power increase for same-format modules and a 5%+ increase in bifaciality.

Full steel plate printing technology reduces grid line resistance, improves grid line flatness, consistency, and aspect ratio performance, supporting the stable mass production of fine grid line designs. It delivers cell conversion efficiency improvement, supports a 2W+ power increase for same-format modules, and further reduces hot spot risk.

The synergistic effect of these three core cell-side manufacturing technologies can support a 10W+ power increase for same-format modules, providing important cell-side support for high-efficiency module power improvement.

More Power Generation: Poly Tech 2.0 Unlocks Bifacial Gains, Supporting High Bifaciality Value

One of the important sources of "more power generation" is the scenario gain brought by high bifaciality. From TNC 1.0 to TNC 2.0, Tongwei's cell bifaciality increased from 80% to 85%. For TNC 3.0, the module side further achieves a value expression of up to 90% bifaciality. In high-reflection environments such as deserts, snowy areas, and water surfaces, rear-side power generation gains can further increase energy yield and reduce the levelized cost of electricity.

At the cell manufacturing level, Poly Tech 2.0 patterning technology optimizes rear-side polysilicon from full-area coverage to grid-line-area-only coverage through polysilicon patterning, ensuring ohmic contact while reducing rear-side optical parasitic absorption, increasing short-circuit current and cell conversion efficiency, and driving more full bifacial power generation release. This technology can support a 3W+ power increase for same-format modules and a 5%+ increase in bifaciality, providing important cell-side support for the "more power generation" value of high-efficiency modules.
