As the "authoritative voice" of the global solar industry, the Global Solar Council is not only a long-term partner of top international institutions including the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in the solar energy field, but also a key promoter of global PV-storage industrial policy formulation and market coordination. Through the Global Solar Council, the global PV-storage industry has secured a platform to deliver a unified, authoritative voice in the highest-level international policy dialogues, serving as a landmark force leading the global energy transition.

The core function of the Global Solar Council is to eliminate trade barriers and build a global policy framework that supports investment and facilitates technology interoperability through global collaboration and policy advocacy. Its most prominent strength lies in its global reach and member representativeness.

The Global Solar Council brings together member organizations from more than 40 countries worldwide. Its member network covers leading forces across the entire value chain, from polysilicon, solar cells, module manufacturing to EPC contracting, power station investment and energy storage solutions. Council members include nearly 30 regional and national industry associations such as the Asia Photovoltaic Industry Association, SolarPower Europe, and the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA), as well as globally dominant leading enterprises including GCL, Tongwei, JinkoSolar, Trina Solar and LONGi. Its member entities represent ‌97% of the global solar PV market share‌. This figure means that almost all core forces in the global PV-storage sector are gathered here, forming a huge synergy driving global energy transformation.

2 Global Empowerment: Act as a "Key Bridge" Connecting China and the World

Against the backdrop of complex and volatile global geopolitics and rising trade protectionism, the Global Solar Council is playing an irreplaceable "super-link" role. For Chinese PV-storage enterprises with global ambitions, the Global Solar Council is not only a window to grasp international policy trends, but also a strategic springboard to deeply integrate into the global green supply chain.

The 9th China International Photovoltaic and Energy Storage Industry Conference 2026 will be held in Chengdu, China from November 17 to 20. During the conference, the Global Solar Council will give full play to its platform advantages, integrate its massive resources of international purchasers and EPC developers, and organize high-standard international procurement matchmaking meetings. It is committed to breaking down information barriers and helping Chinese enterprises precisely connect with key decision-makers and buyers in major markets across Europe, America, Asia, Africa and other regions. This face-to-face pragmatic cooperation will help Chinese PV-storage technologies, products and services enter the global market more efficiently, and jointly address the complex challenges of global energy transition.

As an active promoter of this international cooperation event, Sonia Dunlop, Chief Executive Officer of the Global Solar Council, has confirmed to attend the conference for the third consecutive year. With her global vision and pragmatic style, she will combine emerging market development cases and innovative financing paths to build a cooperation bridge for Chinese and foreign enterprises.
