Recently, the results of the "2025 Science and Technology Award of the China Renewable Energy Society" were officially announced. Tongwei's "High-efficiency and low-cost silicon heterojunction (HJT) solar cell technology" successfully won the first prize of the Science and Technology Award after multiple rounds of rigorous reviews, thanks to its outstanding performance in technological innovation, achievement transformation, and sector leadership.

As a pioneer in heterojunction technology, Tongwei has always been committed to technological innovation, continuously empowering the high-quality development of the sector. As early as 2018, Tongwei took the lead in deploying HJT technology, successfully building the first gigawatt-level heterojunction production line in China. It also started to deploy the industry's first heterojunction G12 half-cell project and achieved the development of the sector's first bifacial microcrystalline pilot line. In terms of copper interconnect technology, Tongwei has also developed a sector-leading overall copper interconnect solution capable of gigawatt-scale mass production. Bifacial microcrystalline technology, silver-free metallization with copper interconnect, and 908 module technology have become the "three key strengths" of Tongwei's heterojunction technology core competitiveness, continuously promoting the development and industrialization process of heterojunction technology.

The China Renewable Energy Society (CRES) was established in September 1979. It is a national first-level society. As a bridge between the government, scientific research, and the industry, it is committed to promoting academic exchanges, achievement transformation, and high-quality industrial development of renewable energy technologies. As the most authoritative and influential science and technology award in the energy field in China, the review criteria of CRES's Science and Technology Award cover three dimensions: "originality, technological difficulty, and industrialization value", aiming to recognize original achievements that have made outstanding contributions to promoting sector technological progress and industrial development. This time, CRES selected a total of 10 first prizes, 12 second prizes, 13 third prizes, 1 Science and Technology Achievement Award, 5 Science and Technology Innovation Figure Awards, and 10 Youth Science and Technology Awards from 89 candidate projects and 48 candidates that passed the formal review.

This award is a high recognition of Tongwei's technological strength by the national authoritative institution, and also a full affirmation of Tongwei's long-term commitment to R&D innovation and leading the sector's technological progress. Standing at a new starting point, Tongwei will take technological innovation as the core engine, comprehensively deploy multiple mainstream technological routes such as TOPCon, heterojunction, BC, and perovskite/crystalline silicon tandem, and continuously advance into the "deep-water area" and "uncharted area" of technology.
