Recently, at Tongwei Solar Technology's Jintang Base, the first Tongwei TNC 3.0-G12R high-efficiency module successfully rolled off the production line.
The TNC 3.0 module divides a whole cell into four parts, replacing the traditional half-cell design with a quarter-cell approach. This physically reduces the operating current of each individual cell. Lower current means less internal energy dissipation, while the increased number of cell segments creates denser and more unobstructed current pathways, significantly optimizing the current transmission within the module. This combination of reduction and enhancement yields immediate results: Compared to conventional TOPCon half-cell modules, the TNC 3.0 reduces internal heat loss by approximately 75%, achieving simultaneous efficiency improvement and loss reduction. This ensures more stable and reliable power generation performance over the module's 30-year operational lifespan in power plants.
No matter how ingenious a design is, it must ultimately withstand the test of manufacturing. As the world's leading company in both high-purity polysilicon and high-efficiency cell shipments, Tongwei has established a vertically integrated industrial chain spanning from polysilicon and wafers to cells and modules. This means that every innovation in the TNC 3.0, from materials to the final product, is supported by a complete and traceable supply chain. The purity advantage of upstream high-purity polysilicon translates into foundational advantages for wafers and cells; the deep technical expertise accumulated at the cell level is maximally retained at the module stage, rather than being progressively diminished across different supply chain links. As a result, the efficiency data achieved in laboratories can be fully realized during mass production ramp-up without gradual compromises, delivering truly "reliable high power."

The First TNC 3.0 Module Roll-Off Ceremony
Value Lies in Power Plants, Not in PPTs
Beyond breakthroughs in mass production efficiency, the TNC 3.0 redefines the value boundaries of high-efficiency modules through multi-dimensional technological innovations, transforming theoretical data into real, long-term benefits for power plants.
Thanks to its innovative quarter-cell design, the TNC 3.0 fundamentally reconstructs current pathways, significantly reducing the operating current and power loss of individual cells. This results in lower operating temperatures and an improved temperature coefficient of -0.26%/°C. This characteristic enables the module to maintain outstanding power generation performance even in high-temperature environments, without compromising under intense sunlight. Each module consistently delivers on its high power generation promise over its 30-year operational lifespan.
In terms of power generation, the TNC 3.0 achieves a maximum bifaciality of 90%, demonstrating exceptional light utilization efficiency. The value of backside power generation is not just theoretical but evident in real-world "profit ledgers": In high-reflectivity environments such as deserts, snowfields, and water surfaces, backside gains directly translate into quantifiable increases in power generation, effectively reducing the levelized cost of electricity (LCOE) over the power plant's lifecycle.
Additionally, leveraging the inherent superior low-light response characteristics of TOPCon technology, the TNC 3.0 starts earlier and stops later than BC modules, operating from "dawn to dusk." Under 200 W/m² low-light conditions, it generates 2.71% more electricity than BC modules. Every additional kilowatt-hour produced carries more weight than parameters on a PPT.
Ultimately, the authenticity of value is not determined by debate but by tangible results. The TNC 3.0 uses real, delivered products to bring all technical discussions back to empirical evidence. The power generation data from power plants serves as the fairest judge of technological approaches.
Deliverable Leadership Going Global
The roll-off of the first module is just the beginning. Starting in May, Tongwei will launch a series of in-depth interactive activities for TNC 3.0, spanning from factories to power plants. Industry partners and customers will be invited to experience the exceptional value of TNC 3.0 modules firsthand and understand the efficiency and reliability improvements brought by the quarter-cell architecture through real-world testing and comparisons.
Meanwhile, the accumulation of numerous意向 orders (intent-to-purchase orders) reflects market recognition of the TNC 3.0. Tongwei has continuously received multiple intent-to-purchase orders for modules, totaling over 1.5 GW and covering multiple countries worldwide, with applications spanning centralized and industrial-commercial power plants, among others. Scheduling for the first batch of orders has also commenced.
Offline validation demonstrates product strength, while orders confirm market confidence. The TNC 3.0 is taking deliverable leading efficiency from production lines to locations around the globe.
Beyond Specifications: Brand Building Long-Term Trust
At a time when technological approaches and industry consensus remain uncertain, what power plant investors truly care about is verifiable certainty: whether promised value can be delivered, whether delivery schedules are reliable, and whether unexpected issues arise during long-term operation.
With over two decades of deep involvement in the photovoltaic industry, Tongwei has accumulated not just production capacity but also a track record of delivery that customers trust. This trust stems from specific sources: nine consecutive years as the global leader in cell shipments and real-world performance data from Tongwei's operational power plants over the years. Looking back along the delivery chain, this certainty is locked in at the very source of the industrial chain. Through over a thousand technological achievements, including cold hydrogenation, anti-disproportionation, high-efficiency reduction, large-scale distillation energy conservation, tail gas recovery, thermal energy cascade utilization, and chlorine-hydrogen closed-loop cycling, Tongwei has firmly established its polysilicon quality at an industry-leading level. The fact that it has been the global leader in high-purity polysilicon shipments for six consecutive years is the best market endorsement.
At the cell stage, this quality consistency is reflected in a series of hard metrics directly impacting investor returns, such as conversion efficiency, yield rate, fragmentation rate, and CTM value. Tongwei has consistently maintained leading positions in these key parameters, ensuring uncompromised delivery schedules and trouble-free long-term operation through coherent quality control from materials to cells.
At the module level, this capability translates into globally recognized "passports." Tongwei has been continuously included in BloombergNEF's Tier 1 list of global photovoltaic module manufacturers and has repeatedly passed stringent certifications in diverse climates and grid environments across Europe, South America, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific. It has accumulated 95 system and product certificates from international authoritative institutions such as TÜV and CQC. Today, Tongwei modules cover major domestic central state-owned power generation groups and over 80 countries and regions worldwide, with its brand value continuously demonstrated through global delivery.
All of this ultimately determines the returns over the entire lifecycle of power plants. When the market is filled with uncertainty, the reliability of the Tongwei brand, repeatedly validated over time, becomes more valuable than any single metric.
