From June 10 to 12, the Second Belt and Road Conference on Science and Technology Exchange was held in Western China International Expo City in Chengdu. The conference was jointly hosted by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the China Association for Science and Technology, the Sichuan Provincial People's Government, and the Chongqing Municipal People's Government. As a leading enterprise in the industry, Tongwei was invited to participate in the "Belt and Road" International Technology Transfer Case Sharing and Technology Docking Conference, contributing more Chinese wisdom and strength to promote global technology transfer and scientific and technological innovation.

At the conference, Dr. Hu Yuchao from PV Technology Center of Tongwei Co., Ltd. delivered a keynote speech on "Perovskite-Crystalline Silicon Tandem Solar Cell Technology," sharing with the participating guests Tongwei's key technological breakthroughs in the mass production of perovskite-crystalline silicon tandem cells/modules, industry pain points, and the market prospects of future tandem cell technology. Perovskite-silicon tandem technology breaks through the laboratory efficiency limit of 29.4% for traditional single-junction photovoltaic cells through the physical structure innovation of stacking solar cells with different band gaps, with a theoretical conversion efficiency of over 45%, representing a disruptive technological route to achieve a leap in power generation per unit area.
Since launching tandem technology research and development in 2022, Tongwei has consistently adhered to a mass production-oriented research and development paradigm, establishing and continuously leading the two-step mass production technology route of "physical deposition + wet film coating," continuously promoting the commercialization process of tandem cell technology. Dr. Hu's wonderful sharing won applause from the audience, and allowed more people to understand the important significance and value of photovoltaic technology innovation in "Belt and Road" technology transfer.
During the conference, Tongwei was also invited to participate in the "Chengdu-Chongqing Region 'Belt and Road' Scientific and Technological Innovation Achievements Exhibition," exhibiting 210mm*105mm full-size high-efficiency perovskite heterojunction tandem cells, attracting many visitors to learn more.
Tongwei began the two-step tandem cell technology research and development in October 2022. As of June 2025, Tongwei's tandem cell research and development efficiency reached 34.3%, and the efficiency of 210 half-cell tandem cells exceeded 27.5%, completing the full-process development of two-step perovskite tandem modules and rapidly advancing the construction of a megawatt-level pilot line. In terms of tandem modules, the G12-66 standard version (2384mm*1303mm) module has been successfully launched. This series of breakthroughs marks Tongwei's continued leadership in the development of future high-efficiency photovoltaic technology.
