On June 12, the third day of the 18th International Photovoltaic Power Generation & Energy Storage Technology and Equipment Coference & Exhibition (SNEC 2025), Xia Zhengyue, Director of the Module Development Department at Tongwei Co., Ltd.'s PV Technology Center, was invited to participate in the "Heterojunction, TOPCon and BC Cell Technology" sub-forum and delivered a keynote speech, exchanging views with the industry on the development of N-type cell and module technology.

908 Technology: Cost Reduction and Efficiency Enhancement Practices of N-Type Technology

0BB interconnection technology, with its non-silicon cost advantages in cell and module links, has the typical characteristics of interconnection technology iteration, leading to the further development of module technology. Tongwei has independently developed 908 technology. As a platform technology, it has multiple advantages such as higher power, lower silver consumption, and better appearance. Through mass production verification, Tongwei 908 technology can reduce silver consumption by 10%~20%, increase power by nearly 1%, and perform excellently in terms of module process stability and long-term aging reliability, and it is also more advantageous than SMBB in terms of safety and environmental protection. The 908 technology has good compatibility with different future technologies, including multi-segmentation, lamination, and triangular welding tape technology at the component end, and EPT, steel plate, and new metallization technology at the cell end. At present, Tongwei's 908 technology has been officially introduced into mass production.
