On May 25, the inaugural "Global Corporate Summit for High-Quality Belt and Road Cooperation" co-hosted by the Indonesian government and multiple international organizations such as the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) grandly opened in Jakarta. Tongwei, together with four leading PV enterprises, namely JA Solar Technology Co., Ltd., JinkoSolar Holding Co., Ltd., LONGi Green Energy Technology Co., Ltd., and GCL Group Co., Ltd., as well as 19 upstream supply chain enterprises, jointly released the Global Solar Sustainable Alliance (GSSA), which is one of the nine important achievements and initiatives of the summit. Luo Fuqiang, General Manager of Tongwei Indonesia, attended the initiative release ceremony as the company's representative. The release of this initiative is a vivid portrayal of enterprises, as the backbone of global economic development, participating in the construction of a high-quality Belt and Road Initiative, and also the best example of PV enterprises taking the initiative to shoulder the responsibility for global sustainable development.
With the theme of "Better Business, Better World and Sustainable Development Goals", this summit brought together global leaders from various sectors including governments, enterprises, international organizations, academia, think-tanks, and non-government organizations. It is the first global event for enterprises to jointly build a high-quality "Belt and Road" and marks the beginning of discussions among political, business, and academic circles to "discuss sustainable development plans, create high-quality business models, and share the benefits of the 'Belt and Road' for multiple stakeholders." Furthermore, it initiates a new journey of cross-national and cross-sectoral cooperation to jointly promote a more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable global economic, environmental, and social coordinated development.
The GSSA initiative is based on the UNGC's "Sustainable Infrastructure for the Belt and Road Initiative to accelerate the SDGs" Action Platform. Guided by the ten principles of the United Nations Global Compact and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, it proposes nine specific actions in three key areas, "Just Transition, People-Centric Development, and Governance Enhancement". The initiative aims to call on all enterprises in the PV industry and its supply chain to establish sustainable development concepts and strategies, and to encourage cooperation within the industry to promote the implementation of sustainable actions. It demonstrates that upstream and downstream PV enterprises actively respond to Article 18 of the Joint Communique of the Leaders' Roundtable of the 2nd Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, fulfilling social responsibility with sustainable development as the guiding principle.

As the core driving force for global energy transformation, the PV industry plays an important strategic role in promoting the global sustainable development process. Chinese PV enterprises have made significant contributions to promoting global energy transformation through technological innovation and industrial collaboration. Under the framework of the Belt and Road, the PV industry is becoming an important link connecting the integration of infrastructure connectivity and the concept of sustainable development. Through green production capacity cooperation, it creates a new model for co-development of economic development and ecological protection in the countries along the Belt and Road.
The release of the GSSA marks the entry of the global PV industry into a new stage of responsible development. This pioneering initiative is not only highly consistent with the principles of the United Nations Global Compact. The three core responsibilities it emphasizes—environmental protection, human rights protection, and good governance—have also been highly recognized and earnestly expected by the organizers: "We expect the PV industry to set an example for global sustainable development through collective action." As the core engine of global energy transformation, we firmly believe that this initiative will be translated into tangible sustainable development practices through the full cooperation of all parties. At the same time, we also look forward to more partners in the industrial chain joining this green revolution, so that PV technology can not only light up thousands of households, but also illuminate the common future of human sustainable development.
