During the 2024 The 7th China International PV and Energy Storage Industry Conference, the awards ceremony for the inaugural PV and Energy Storage Innovation Technology Competition was held. TW Solar (Chengdu) Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Leadmicro Nano Technology Co., Ltd., Jiangsu GCL Silicon Materials Technology Development Co., Ltd., Wuxi Lead Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd., Wuxi Autowell Technology Co., Ltd., Suzhou Maxwell Technologies Co., Ltd., Hunan Red Solar Photoelectric Technology Co., Ltd., Chengdu Guibao Technology Co., Ltd., Sichuan Futan New Materials Technology Co., Ltd., Leshan Western Silicon Material Photovoltaic New Energy Industry Technology Research Institute, and Leshan Normal University were among the institutions awarded the "China PV and Energy Storage Innovation Technology Achievement Award" and "China PV and Energy Storage Cutting-Edge Technology Contribution Award" in the 1st PV and Energy Storage Innovation Technology Competition in 2024. These accolades further ignited the winners' passion for continuous innovation and set a benchmark for technological advancement across the sector, contributing significantly to a greener, more sustainable energy future.


Building upon the success of the inaugural competition, the "Tongwei Cup" 2nd PV and Energy Storage Innovation Technology Competition is now officially launched. This competition aims to create a platform for exchange, innovation, and integration within the PV and energy storage new energy industry, gathering strategic and disruptive technological innovations. It seeks to accelerate the development and widespread application of PV and energy storage technologies in China, fostering ecosystem construction, and promoting technological innovation to lead the construction of a modern industrial system. This initiative will contribute to industrial transformation and upgrading, providing new impetus for achieving the "dual carbon" goals and promoting green development.

Three Tracks: Defining the Future of PV and Energy Storage

This competition addresses common pain points, challenges, and critical bottlenecks across various segments of the new energy industry chain, including PV and energy storage. With creative ideas, innovative products, innovative technologies, innovative applications, etc. as the competition topics, this competition will solicit excellent scientific and technological achievements, cutting-edge technologies, application cases, etc. in the fields of PV and energy storage technology, new energy products, etc. from around the world. The competition is structured around three major tracks, "Cell and Module Technology", "Energy Storage System Integration and Technology", and "Power Plant Design", covering the entire new energy industry chain from cell and module innovation to energy storage and power plant applications. The "Cell and Module Technology" track focuses on crystalline silicon cells, thin-film cells, and new cell technologies, as well as the research and development of high-performance materials for module auxiliaries, advanced module manufacturing processes such as half-cut cell structures, shingled cell structures, and flexible module processes. The "Energy Storage System Integration and Technology" track covers energy storage cell technology, energy storage system integration, intelligent monitoring and management systems for energy storage systems, grid connection and control technology for PV and energy storage systems, and PV-energy storage-hydrogen system integration and related technologies. The "Power Plant Design" track evaluates power station generation, energy storage, and operational capabilities from multiple perspectives, including "anti-shadowing", "low-irradiation power", and "module operating dimensions", to identify outstanding PV and energy storage power generation station design solutions suitable for global promotion and implementation.

Multi-Dimensional Empowerment: Creating an Innovation Accelerator

Authoritative industry institutions and expert panels will lead the evaluation of submitted innovation projects. This selection process will not involve any registration or evaluation fees, and awards will be determined based on principles of fairness, impartiality, and transparency. The individuals or teams that win awards will not only receive honorary certificates from the conference but will also gain technical guidance from an expert committee composed of PV technology leaders.


As a pivotal force in advancing industry frontiers and cultivating new quality productive forces for PV, Tongwei's Global Innovation R&D Center encompasses mainstream solar cell and module technologies in the industry at present, and is also committed to researching and promoting the next generation of high-efficiency solar energy technologies. It focuses on the R&D, pilot test, and mass production transfer of high-efficiency crystalline silicon cells and materials, as well as the development of high-efficiency and highly reliable module products, and research on PV test and analysis. Cutting-edge technologies awarded in this competition will be integrated into Tongwei's R&D platform, further consolidating high-quality resources, providing special funds, and strengthening project support to jointly promote the rapid development of the PV industry.
