Breakthroughs: Tongwei Continuously Sets New Sector Records


In 2024, Tongwei continued to explore the mainstream industry technologies of TOPCon, HJT, xBC, and perovskite/c-Si tandem solar cells and modules, consistently setting new sector benchmarks.

Tongwei's Intelligent Manufacturing Workshop for High-efficiency Module



In October 2024, the THC-210 heterojunction module, independently developed by Tongwei, achieved a maximum output power of 776.2 watts and a photoelectric conversion efficiency of 24.99% at a size of 2384*1303mm, as certified by the authoritative testing organization TÜV Rheinland. This signifies a significant breakthrough that the power of heterojunction modules has reached the 775-watt milestone for the first time, and also marks the ninth time since 2023 that Tongwei has set new records for the power and efficiency of heterojunction modules.

On December 25, 2024, TÜV Rheinland tested and confirmed that Tongwei's TNC-G12-66 model achieved a maximum output power of 763.4 watts, while the TNC-G12R-66 model reached 663.5 watts, once again breaking the power records in the PV sector. In addition, Tongwei's N-type TBC modules exceeded 655 watts in a batch-based R&D initiative, and the perovskite/c-Si tandem solar cells achieved a maximum efficiency of 33.98%.

Advancing into the "Deep Waters" of Innovation with Tongwei Global Innovation R&D Center

On June 6, 2024, the Tongwei Global Innovation R&D Center was officially completed and put into operation.



In November 2023, the construction of the Tongwei Global Innovation and R&D Center commenced in Shuangliu, Chengdu; just six months later, in June 2024, the center was officially inaugurated.


Liu Hanyuan, Deputy to the NPC, Vice Chairman of All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tongwei Group, stated that the positioning of the Tongwei Global Innovation R&D Center is to serve as a guiding point for the company in the next 5 to 10 years and beyond, focusing on finding direction, mitigating risks, identifying market positions, and developing mainstream technologies, with the goal of establishing an innovative landmark that aligns with the company's industry status and aspires to be a National Enterprise Technology Center.

In 2024, the PV Technology Center of Tongwei Co., Ltd. engaged in in-depth discussions with leading enterprises across various segments of the industry chain, including DR Laser from Wuhan, Cybrid Technologies from Suzhou, Wuxi Lead Intelligent Equipment, and Changzhou Fusion New Materials, as well as CDHT HI-TECH and Sparkedge Capital, actively exploring collaborative innovation within the industry. In June 2024, Sichuan Tongwei Crystalline Silicon PV Industry Innovation Co., Ltd. was successfully established, and in November 2024, the company's general meeting of shareholders was successfully convened, collectively exploring institutional and technological innovations to contribute to the cultivation of new quality productive forces in the PV sector.

By the end of 2024, the PV Technology Center has participated in over 60 industry-specific conferences and forums, sharing Tongwei's innovative practices and experiences in driving energy transition through keynote speeches, case studies, and panel discussions on topics such as cell characteristics, ecological design of modules, PV raw materials, packaging technology, production processes, PV technology, and the PV supply chain.

The 8th Roundtable Conference of China PV Solar Energy High-Efficiency Heterojunction 740W+ Club Was Successfully Held



During the 2024 the 7th China International PV and Energy Storage Industry Conference, the 8th Roundtable Conference of China PV Solar Energy High-Efficiency Heterojunction 740W+ Club took place successfully. As the rotating chair of this conference, Tongwei convened with leaders from fourteen member units of the 740W+ Heterojunction Club and top industry experts to engage in in-depth discussions on the direction of industry development.

Technological Patents

Transforming Intellectual Property into Assets to Empower Industry Innovation and Development



According to the PV Industry Patent Development Report, the growth rate of patent applications in China's PV sector has been remarkable over the past decade. As of May 2024, China reported 74,000 total valid patents and 22,000 total valid invention patents in the PV sector, both of which took the lead globally.

So far, Tongwei has established three National Enterprise Technology Centers. In terms of intellectual property, by the end of December 2024, it has obtained 2,675 patent authorizations both domestically and internationally, earning accolades such as the National Intellectual Property Demonstration Enterprise and the National Intellectual Property Advantage Enterprise, along with the First Prize of Sichuan Provincial Patent Award. These achievements effectively promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, converting intellectual property into effective assets and advancing the new quality productive forces in the PV sector.

In December 2024, TW Solar's independently developed high-efficiency N-type TOPCon solar cells achieved a groundbreaking milestone by being recognized as the "First (Set of) Major Technical Equipment in Sichuan Province", which marks the first inclusion of solar cell products in this category since Sichuan began its recognition process for major technical equipment in 2013. Additionally, the local standard of Sichuan Province for TOPCon led by TW Solar has been successfully published, marking a milestone for crystalline silicon cells in Sichuan's local standards.
