A 100MW Framework Cooperation Agreement Made between Tongwei and Baihai Solar
2024-12-23

Recently, Tongwei Co., Ltd. signed a framework cooperation agreement with Baihai Solar, a well-known Uzbek EPC Company, in Tashkent, which marks an important step forward for both sides in promoting the development of renewable energy in Central Asia and advancing the development of the Green Silk Road. According to the agreement, Tongwei will provide 100MW high-efficiency PV modules in the next three years to support the energy transition in this region. At the signing ceremony, Wang Xinmin, CEO of Baihai Solar, and Ding Xi, Module Marketing Representative (Central Asia) of the PV Business Department of Tongwei Co., Ltd., signed the agreement on behalf of both sides.

The execution of this framework agreement marks an important milestone in the cooperation between both parties, and also a full recognition of the achievements of such a close tie in the past few months. Since the first contact in July 2024, both parties have successfully delivered the TNC-G12R 66 double-glazed module through continuous in-depth communication and cooperation, which have shown excellent performance in practical applications. This framework agreement will further expand and deepen cooperation between both parties based on previous successful joint efforts.

For the TNC-G12R module, the independently developed TNC high-efficiency cell technology has been adopted and multiple designs, such as super multi-busbar (SMBB), non-destructive dicing, gap reflection band and high-density packaging, have been integrated to significantly improve power generation efficiency and output power, with maximum power as high as 630W. Meanwhile, its VoC is lower than M10, so each MW power station can save up to 12.79% of the string.

In addition, with higher module power and string power, this module significantly reduces the quantity of auxiliary materials, such as brackets, fixtures, DC cables and installation labor costs, for the Project, comprehensively reducing the BOS cost. As calculated, the cost saving of the TNC-G12R 66 double-glazed module is up to 1.80% per watt. With outstanding economic benefits, it not only meets the efficient power generation needs of customers, but also further enhances the return on investment and brings substantial project optimization effects to customers.

Mr. Wang Xinmin, CEO of Baihai Solar, stated at the signing ceremony that they chose to cooperate with Tongwei because of their deep trust in Tongwei's high-efficiency module technology. Especially, Tongwei modules performed outstandingly in dealing with extreme weather conditions in Uzbekistan. They not only had excellent abilities to withstand the environment with high temperature, high UV radiation, strong wind pressure and high altitude, but also could provide stable and efficient output, ensuring the long-term reliability of the Project.

Tongwei's high-efficiency modules have been certified by strict international IEC standards, due to their excellent performance in extreme environments, especially under high diurnal temperatures, strong ultraviolet radiation, and low night temperatures in Uzbekistan.

According to the IEC standards, PV modules are currently required to undergo 200 thermal cycle tests. However, Tongwei's key mass-produced modules have all passed over 400 cycle tests within a temperature range from 85 ℃ to -40 ℃, far beyond the industry standards. This performance ensures that the modules can still work efficiently and stably under extreme heat and cold conditions in Uzbekistan. In addition, Tongwei's modules have passed more stringent UV120 tests to ensure long-term stable power generation capacity in strong UV environments.

In high-altitude areas, atmospheric pressure and air density gradually decrease as altitude increases, which may affect the air insulation strength of electrical equipment. Therefore, PV products dedicated to high-altitude environments must undergo reliability assessments under higher pulse voltage conditions to ensure that electrical clearances and insulation capabilities meet relevant requirements. Tongwei's TNC-G12R 66 double-glazed module has performed very well with a high pulse voltage test result of 27.55kV in the rigorous test conducted by a third-party authority, demonstrating its reliability under extreme conditions and largely ensuring its safe application in high-altitude areas.
