“Siyuan • Sunshine Initiative” Credited as Highly Effective

Vice Chairman of the CPPCC National Committee Mr. Zhang Rongming came to Sichuan on May, 5th. The purpose of his trip is to know about the reconstruction of the earthquake-hit area, as well as the application of “China Siyuan Project Poverty Relief Fund” by the Central Committee of China Democratic National Construction Association. Board Chairman of Tongwei Group, Mr. Liu Hanyuan introduced to Mr. Zhang about Tongwei’s active participation into the relief and reconstruction after last year’s May earthquake. As the major implementary entity of “Siyuan• Sunshine Initiative”, Tongwei Group donated ￥RMB12.5 million for earthquake relief, including ￥RMB 8 million as executive fund for the Initiative; ￥RMB 3.5 million for construction of two Hope schools in the devastated Deyang city; and ￥RMB 1.5 million for helping farmers in Deyang and Mianyang city. Currently, One hope school has already been completed and commissioned. The other one will be operational by the end of this year. The Initiative was credited for its effectiveness during application by Mr. Zhang.
