2022-07-25
As of the second quarter of 2022, the cumulative global output of TW Solar photovoltaic cell has exceeded 100GW, marking another important milestone in Tongwei's sustainable development and making it the first cell manufacturer that completed 100GW cell output in the industry.
The 100GW cell project can produce about 138.7 billion kWh of clean energy every year, which may meet the demand of 82.151 million urban and rural households for one year. This means a reduction of CO2 emissions by about 138 million tons, reduction of SO2 emissions by 4.16 million tons, and saving of standard coal by about 55.48 million tons, which is equivalent to the forestation of about 755,600 hectares of broad-leaved trees.
Deep Exploration in Photovoltaic Industry
Nine Years of Cultivation for a Better Future
With nine years of steady and far-reaching exploration, TW Solar has been continuously engaged in the R&D, manufacturing and promotion of core products of solar power generation with incessant consolidation of the company's leading position in the high-efficiency crystalline silicon cell industry. In 2013, Tongwei officially started to engage in the high-efficiency crystalline silicon solar cell, and realized profitability in the first year of production. In 2017, TW Solar's first Industry 4.0 high-efficiency cell production line in the world was officially put into operation, marking the era of Industry 4.0 and setting a new benchmark for intelligent manufacturing in the sector. In 2021, Tongwei joined hands with China Telecom and Huawei to integrate their innovations and built the world's first 5G application base in the photovoltaic sector in Jintang, Chengdu, striving together to build a model of 5G+ advanced manufacturing.
