On March 27, the "Large-Scale Manufacturing Technology for Perovskite-Crystalline Silicon Tandem Solar Cells" submitted by the Photovoltaic Technology Department of Tongwei Co., Ltd. was successfully selected into the recommended list of "2025 Major Scientific and Technological Progresses in the Perovskite Field" released by the Perovskite Industry Branch of the China International Association for Science and Technology Promotion. This marks that Tongwei has achieved a decisive breakthrough in overcoming the core bottleneck of industrialization of next-generation photovoltaic technology, and that Tongwei's research and development progress in the perovskite field has received high recognition from the industry.

List of Selected Projects for 2025 Major Scientific and Technological Progresses in the Perovskite Field
Technological Breakthrough: Breaking Mass Production Barriers, Leading Industrialization Process
This technology directly addresses the core challenge of commercialization of perovskite-crystalline silicon tandem solar cells: large-scale manufacturing. Tongwei's technical team has successfully overcome key mass production technologies such as full-size high-quality film formation under ambient conditions, and built the industry's first fully automatic megawatt (MW)-scale pilot line. Through large-scale manufacturing practices, the team has optimized the entire manufacturing process and refined process control strategies, systematically demonstrating the mass production feasibility of this technology route from an engineering perspective for the first time. The core of the technology lies in the development of large-area, high-throughput film-forming processes, which significantly improves yield and production tact in large-scale manufacturing, laying a solid foundation for reducing per-watt costs and enabling commercial application.
Platform Support: Remarkable Achievements at R&D Center, Gains National Recognition
Major technological breakthroughs cannot be achieved without the support of top-tier R&D platforms. The Tongwei Global Innovation R&D Center achieved remarkable construction progress in 2025: In September, the fully automatic MW-scale perovskite-crystalline silicon tandem solar cell pilot line achieved full line operation; In December, the "Advanced Photovoltaic Device Pilot Platform" constructed at the center was approved as one of the first national-level manufacturing pilot platforms, becoming the first national-level platform of its kind owned by an enterprise in the industry, and the first such platform in Sichuan Province. Currently, the center has built a cluster of R&D and pilot platforms covering multiple technologies, forming a development pattern of "mainstream technology leadership + cutting-edge technology reserves".
Industrial Value: Driving Technological Innovation, Empowering Energy Transition
This technology successfully bridges the gap between laboratory research and large-scale production. Its large-scale manufacturing practices not only identify more industrially promising technology routes through mass production validation and guide fundamental research through practical feedback, but also promote an in-depth integrated innovation ecosystem combining "industry-university-research-application", driving collaborative research and development across the upstream and downstream industrial chain. The ultra-high conversion efficiency of over 30% delivered by tandem cells will significantly increase power generation per unit area and expand the application boundaries of photovoltaics. Large-scale deployment of such high-efficiency cells will significantly accelerate the implementation of China's carbon neutrality strategy.
The selection of this technology as a major scientific and technological progress of the year vividly demonstrates Tongwei's innovation-driven development strategy. In the future, Tongwei will continue to take technological R&D as its core driving force, rely on its national-level R&D platform, accelerate the mass production R&D and validation process of perovskite-crystalline silicon tandem solar cells, and inject sustained momentum into the high-quality development of the photovoltaic industry and global green energy transition.
