Braving Hailstorms and Hurricanes! TNC 2.0 Launches in Three Australian Cities, Robustly Safeguarding a Zero-Carbon Future
2025-08-26

Following the two successful themed events in Brisbane (June) and Sydney (July), Tongwei and Blue Sun Group jointly hosted and successfully concluded their third roadshow in Melbourne on August 21. Centered on the theme "Zero Carbon Mission," the event showcased Tongwei's latest technologies and solutions in clean energy, attracting numerous experts and partners from the photovoltaic industry.

During the event, Tongwei highlighted its TNC 2.0 48-series modules, demonstrating the robust advantages of this innovative product to the Australian market. As a key photovoltaic market, Australia faces unique climate challenges, particularly frequent extreme weather events like hailstorms and cyclones. Ensuring the efficiency and stability of photovoltaic system under such conditions has become a core industry concern.

The TNC 2.0 48-series module is specifically designed to address these challenges. Featuring dual-glass design and 2.0mm thermally strengthened glass, it delivers exceptional wind and hail resistance.

In hail tests, the module withstood impacts from hailstones up to 45mm in diameter at speeds of 30.8m/s—equivalent to golf ball impact velocities—demonstrating outstanding shock resistance. This ensures superior performance even during extreme weather, particularly hailstorms.

Under strong winds and cyclones, the module's high-strength dual-glass structure increases the front-side load capacity from 5400Pa to 6000Pa and the back-side load capacity from 2400Pa to 4000Pa (an increase of nearly 67%), enabling it to withstand wind speeds of 167.76 km/h—equivalent to Category 15 typhoons—guaranteeing stable operation in extreme climates.

Additionally, the TNC 2.0 48-series module has passed Albright Laboratory's cyclone test in Australia, certifying its use in Wind Region D (severe cyclone zones).

The module also excels in power generation efficiency. Its high-power, high-efficiency design maximizes electricity output in regions with abundant sunlight, further enhancing user ROI and long-term system benefits.
