Innovation Leads the Way | Tongwei Wins the 2024 Photovoltaic Award

From August 20 to 22, the "21st China Photovoltaic Conference (CPVC-21)", hosted by the Photovoltaic Professional Committee, China Renewable Energy Society (China), was held in Ningbo, Zhejiang. This conference focused closely on the latest technological advancements and industrial development trends in the PV field, with an emphasis on hot topics for technical sharing and academic exchange.

Tongwei successfully made it into the China's Photovoltaic Technology Development Report 2025 with its "Low-Cost, High-Power, Silver-Free Heterojunction Cell and Module Technology" and won the "Major Technological Progress Award in China's Photovoltaic Sector of 2024", recognized as one of the eight most cutting-edge technological achievements in China's PV sector for 2024. Dr. Long Wei, Director of the PV Technology Center of Tongwei Co., Ltd., accept the award on behalf of the company. The awarded technology includes internationally leading technologies such as nanocrystalline silicon oxide film preparation technology and copper busbar technology, along with the industry-first busbar-free module packaging solution, which enhances cell efficiency and module power.

Tongwei Won the "Major Technological Progress Award in China's Photovoltaic Sector of 2024"

Dr. Long Wei delivered a keynote speech at the conference and was invited to chair a sub-session. In the speech titled Technical Roadmap for Silicon Heterojunction Solar Cell Modules Targeting 780 Watts, Dr. Long Wei presented Tongwei’s latest research achievements in heterojunction cells and modules, outlining a proposed breakthrough strategy comprising enhanced bifacial microcrystalline efficiency, copper interconnection as a replacement for silver, and the three‑pronged approach of the 908 module product, aimed at continuously strengthening the competitiveness of HJT products. Meanwhile, the company continues to research back-side polishing, differentiated texturing, edge optimization, and other technologies at the HJT cell level, and actively integrates cutting-edge technologies such as multi-slice and full-screen at the module development level, which helps the company achieve the 780W target by the end of 2025.
