According to the renewable energy data released by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), in 2019, the global installed capacity of renewable energy was 176GW. By 2019, the cumulative global installed photovoltaic capacity reached 580.1GW.
In 2019, the newly installed capacity of photovoltaics is 97.5GW, the newly installed capacity of wind power is 59GW, the newly installed capacity of hydropower is 12GW, the newly installed capacity of biomass energy is 6GW, and the newly installed capacity of geothermal energy is 0.6GW. Photovoltaic and wind power installations account for about 90 percent of the newly growth in renewable energy.
