Gifts for the Extraordinary Decade! Launching Ceremony of Phase IV High-performance c-Si Solar Cell Project of TW Solar Meishan Base Grandly Held

On September 25, Meishan Session of On-site Promotion of Major Projects in the Third Quarter of 2023 of Sichuan Province & Launching Ceremony of Phase IV High-performance c-Si Solar Cell Project of TW Solar Meishan Base was officially held. Attendants included Hu Yuankun, Secretary of the CPC Meishan Municipal Committee, Huang He, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Meishan Municipal Committee and Mayor of Meishan, Sun Jian, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Meishan Municipal Committee and Executive Vice Mayor of Meishan, Gao Lixin, Member of the Standing Committee, Head of Organization Department, and Secretary General of the CPC Meishan Municipal Committee, Zou Rulin, Vice Mayor of Meishan, Liu Shuqi, Chairwoman and CEO of Tongwei Co., Ltd., Zhou Hua, General Manager of TW Solar, Chen Jun, General Manager Assistant, and Yao Qian, General Manager Assistant of Meishan Base, as well as heads and employee representatives of the Meishan Municipal People's Government, Meishan Tianfu New Area, Ganzi-Meishan Industrial Park, and other relevant departments.

Before the ceremony, leaders at all levels visited and listened to the report of Han Jie, Director of Meishan Development and Reform Commission, on the major projects in the third quarter of Meishan and the report of Deng Qiang, Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Ganzi-Meishan Industrial Park, on the Phase IV High-performance c-Si Solar Cell Project of TW Solar Meishan Base.

Site Visit

This launching ceremony was presided over by Huang He, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Meishan Municipal Committee and Mayor of Meishan. At the ceremony, witnessed by leaders at all levels and guests, Hu Yuankun, Secretary of the CPC Meishan Municipal Committee, announced the official launch of the Phase IV High-performance c-Si Solar Cell Project of TW Solar Meishan Base. Sun Jian, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Meishan Municipal Committee and Executive Vice Mayor of Meishan, reported on the on-site promotion of major projects in the third quarter of Sichuan Province.

Liu Shuqi, Chairwoman and CEO of Tongwei Co., Ltd. delivered a speech. She stated that Tongwei, as a local private enterprise in Meishan, is concerned about the development of Meishan. It took only 36 days for the TW Solar Meishan Base from the contact of both parties to the finalization of the investment and only 50 days for the official signing of a contract. In addition, it took only 1 year and 8 months from the operation of Phase I of the project to the output value exceeding RMB 10 billion. It is the first enterprise in Meishan City with an output value exceeding RMB 10 billion. Our investment scale, construction speed, and speed of output value exceeding RMB 10 billion have all created new records of "Tongwei Speed" and "Ganzi-Meishan Speed" for project investment in Meishan City. These achievements come from the joint efforts of all Tongwei people and cannot be separated from the care and assistance of Party committees and government leaders at all levels in our hometown. The Phase IV 16GW High-performance c-Si Solar Cell Project of TW Solar Meishan Base officially launched is expected to be completed and put into operation in the first half of next year and the Meishan Base will become the world's largest crystalline silicon cell production base. The total cell production capacity of TW Solar has also exceeded 90GW this year, with a shipment exceeding 160GW, and its shipment of solar cells still ranks first in the world.
