Leading the Way to a Smart Future丨Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Yunnan Tongwei Phase II Project of 200,000-ton High-purity Crystalline Silicon

On March 21, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Yunnan Tongwei Phase II project of 200,000-ton high-purity crystalline silicon grandly kicked off in Changning Industrial Park, Baoshan City. Yang Jun, Secretary of the Baoshan Municipal Committee of the CPC, attended the ceremony and officially announced the commencement of the project. Chen Rui, Deputy Secretary of the Baoshan Municipal Committee of the CPC and Acting Mayor, Bao Jianbin, Deputy Director of Yunnan Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, Han Kaizhu, Director of the Standing Committee of Baoshan Municipal People's Congress, Zhu Hongchun, Chairman of the Baoshan Municipal People's Political Consultative Conference, Duan Zhonghua, Member of the Standing Committee of the Baoshan Municipal Committee of the CPC and Secretary of the Longyang District Committee of the CPC, Fan Xi, Member of the Standing Committee of the Baoshan Municipal Committee of the CPC and Secretary-general of the Baoshan Municipal Committee of the CPC, Cheng Dejun, Deputy Mayor of Baoshan, Zhang Zhihong, Secretary-general of Baoshan Municipal People's Government, Yang Binbin, Secretary of the Changning County Committee of the CPC, Fan Zhengjian, Deputy Secretary of the Changning County Committee of the CPC and Mayor of Changning County, Li Bin, Vice President of Tongwei Co., Ltd. and General Manager of Yongxiang Co., Ltd., Yuan Shihua, Chief Financial Officer of Tongwei Co., Ltd., Du Bingsheng, Deputy General Manager of Yongxiang Co., Ltd. and General Manager of Yunnan Tongwei, and other leaders attended and witnessed the groundbreaking ceremony. Relevant functional departments of Yunnan Province, Baoshan City, Longyang District, Changning County, and Baoshan Industrial Park, the company's business cooperation units, and representatives of Yongxiang Co., Ltd. and Yunnan Tongwei participated in the ceremony.

In his welcoming address, Mr. Du stated that the company prioritizes production and construction on equal footing and would firmly follow Chairman Liu Hanyuan's instructions of "constructing a high-quality project with high standards and tight regulations" to create a garden-style model for modern enterprises. When the Phase II project is completed, Yunnan Tongwei will become the world’s biggest single-unit production facility with a capacity to produce more than 250,000 tons of high-purity crystalline silicon.

On behalf of Tongwei, Mr. Li expressed his heartfelt thanks for the long-term care and support of committees of the CPC and governments at all levels in Yunnan Province. He also pointed out that Yunnan Province has committed to ecological priority and green development and fostered the conversion of resource advantages into development advantages in recent years, expanding the energy industry in scale and strength and boosting enterprises' confidence in future development. After the Phase I project of the Yunnan Tongwei 50,000-ton project landed in Baoshan, it took only 355 days from the start of construction to the commissioning of production. It yielded super-grade products in a single attempt, setting a new record for the fastest project construction in the industry. The Phase II project will adopt the "Eighth-generation Yongxiang Method", which is iteratively upgraded to create a high-quality project with "advanced technology, excellent equipment, reasonable cost, craftsmanship, safety, efficiency, and well-coordinated team".
