A Working Meeting between Liu Hanyuan, Chairman of Tongwei Group, and Wang Yubo, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Yunnan Provincial Committee and Governor of Yunnan Province

On May 24, Liu Hanyuan, a member of the Standing Committee of the 11th CPPCC National Committee, Deputy to the NPC and Chairman of Tongwei Group, had a working meeting with Wang Yubo, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Yunnan Provincial Committee and Governor of Yunnan Province. The following personnel also participated in the meeting: Yang Bin, Vice Governor of Yunnan Province; Sun Can, Secretary-General of Yunnan Provincial People's Government; Yang Jun, Secretary of the CPC Baoshan Municipal Committee; Yue Xiuhu, Deputy Secretary-General of Yunnan Provincial People's Government and Director of Yunnan Development and Reform Commission; Kou Jie, Head of Department of Industry and Information Technology of Yunnan Province; Xie Yi, Chairman and CEO of Tongwei Co., Ltd.; and Du Bingsheng, Deputy General Manager of Yongxiang Co., Ltd. and General Manager of Yunnan Tongwei High-purity Crystalline Silicon Co., Ltd.

Wang Yubo affirmed Tongwei's efforts made in developing projects in Yunnan. As a world-renowned and domestic leading enterprise, Tongwei has made important contributions to the local economic development of Yunnan. The development of the photovoltaic industry in Yunnan is supported by unique comprehensive advantages including energy, location, market, industry and policy, Wang said. They would make greater efforts to accelerate the creation of a first-class business environment, and support the growth and expansion of Tongwei in Yunnan. He hoped that Tongwei would continue to play a leading role in the long term and with firm confidence and abide by the bottom line of laws and regulations, the red line of ecological protection and the policy line of industrial development, to achieve mutual benefits and win-win results and seek sustainable development.

Liu Hanyuan expressed his heartfelt thanks to the CPC Yunnan Provincial Committee, Yunnan Provincial People's Government, and their functional departments for their long-term concern, support and help for Tongwei's projects in Yunnan. Liu added that the current achievements of Yunnan Tongwei were the product of concerted efforts of the government and the company. With its own advantages and a high sense of social responsibility, therefore, Tongwei would actively contribute to achieving the "3060" carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals and more determinedly and resolutely develop the photovoltaic industry in Yunnan. In the next step, Tongwei would continue enhancing the cooperation between the government, speed up the implementation of its subsequent projects in Yunnan, and engage in promoting the high-quality development of the green energy industry.

At the meeting, both sides exchanged views on accelerating the subsequent projects, extending the photovoltaic industrial chain, facilitating the building of the "Photovoltaic City of China" in Yunnan, better serving the national strategy for carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, etc.
